Hey all, So I have been thinking for a while about what updates I can do for this blog that will help me bring you content and also help me keep up to date with what I want to do within this blog. Now I have been doing mostly witchy tips/ reviews and hauls which is why I want to change it up a bit. I will still be doing my witchy ways but I will set that one a focused day of the week so I don't over load the blog in just witchy ways. I created this blog for me to rant and rave about the world we live in. It was meant to be a place where I could speak my mind openly without people trashing what I believe is true. Now that changed a bit when I reconnected with my witchy self and started to share my knowledge with you. This happens. I did at some point do blogs about my art but as I am too busy to do my hobby of art that stopped. Where as I will never be busy for my witchy ways because its part of who I am and thats why I love sharing aspects of it with you guys. But I do miss doing posts about other aspects of my life and for that it may include my thoughts of how the week went, my photography or even Pokemon go and my best Pokemon caught that week. It could be anything from days out with mates to family dinners but I want to get back to doing posts like that. So to get back to my point, I have decided that from august I will trail this new routine for posts. Wednesday = Witchy aspects. (This includes tips and tricks, divination and other bits and bobs that I have done in the past. I have started a series about my cards which will continue but not every week but every so often. That saves me doing the series too quickly and also gives me time to make the posts more fun. I will also still do a post about my magazines but I will only do one post per magazine or may be compare both in one post.) I will still be working out kinks and trying to make the best of this new routine. Fridays = Pagan parcel/ Reviews and hauls. Now I wont be getting the pagan parcel every week neither will I be doing hauls every week but on the weeks I dont have either one I will do a review on books and items I have been using that included games, apps that I have used that has better my knowledge or my life in one way or another. This may also change I may think of better ways to use Fridays post or even add to it. Sundays = My day. The posts on this day will be about my week, either what I enjoyed of that week or a day trip thats been done. I wanted one day that I could post about my views on the world and a rant like style haha. Sundays for me is a start of a new week (because of how my work does weeks) So I want to review my week and then I dont dwell on whats upset me that week but also what made me happy and it helps me clear my head for the new week. I will be doing new images for posts the next couple of weeks so that you will not get bored of the header images. I will also be doing planned events hopefully which will connect with one of the three days of posts. I have done this to make my life easier as at the moment I have struggled to get ideas to fill all three or even two days of posts at the moment because of work. That will change and I will have a list of ideas for posts in the future once work dies down but because its coming up to summer holidays that wont happen until September may be. I think this new post routine will help me with themes and ideas and also it doesn't bore your lot reading my posts. I do hope you like the new set up that will be starting from august 1st and if you have any questions than send them my way I am happy to answer them. I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x] MissDoomie x Hey all, So I want to start a new series because I know many people are wondering what cards I have and/or use with every day craft. Now I have been collecting tarot and oracle cards for a very long time. Some I have been brought or gifted and others have been collected from my magazines that I buy monthly. As you have seen I do get a lot of cards from magazines that are oracle based. Now theses are great starting cards for anyone looking at joining the path or even just looking into what they do. I have already done four or five posts about cards I have gotten in my collect which I will add to the collection. I will also be creating a link in the categories so you can read through them all once they are posted and also go back to them for reference. After all I am doing this to show you don't need to spend loads of money to get great looking and working cards. I will also continue this series as long as the cards are still collected. Now disclaimer most of the cards I have gotten over the years are from magazines. I have kept them because they are beautiful. The artistes that creates theses cards for the magazines is very talented and I find that looking at beautiful cards does help the mind. I don't like throwing useful tools away. If I see that I have a pack of cards that I may not get use of but someone else would I will gift them that card deck but at this moment of time no one I know needs or wants these cards as they have either already got the deck or not wanting a new one. Which is completely fine for me because theses are stored in my silver chest that I use as part of my altar and will stay there until used. I do hope you all enjoy this series and I would love feedback. I want to try and make more helpful content and for beginners whats more helpful then card reviews and where to get them. I will see you all in the next post, Until next time. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Hey all, Its that time of the month again with theses self love cards. There are four sections love, wealth, positivity and health. I will do one card for each section for the next couple of months and see if you feel the love or not. Theses cards will be picked at random so it should help within that month to help you feel loved. After all we all need some love in our lives. Health 'Today my mind and body are powerful' Positivity 'Nothing can stop me from achieving big' Love 'I am thankful for the love of friends and family' Wealth 'I am rich with abundance and blessing' I just love these cards and they have helped me be more positive within my month. Hope that does the same for you. Blessed be MissDoomie x Hey all, So today is basically a little personal. This post wont be posted when I did this reading because I want to keep that part to myself. So I am speaking to you from the past. I personally at this moment of time have been struggling with a decision that may ruin everything I have built or make it better. I asked the cards what advice they have about this one person coming back into my life. The cards had spoken and gave me the answer. The devil meaning trouble is coming my way. That for me represents the person trying to come back into my life. They had caused a lot of pain and hurt and made me feel very uneasy when they are near. The chariot meaning I have a journey ahead. That to me means theres many paths I may take. I have to make a decision that may take me down a troubled path or one that may bring me joy. I myself already know what path I should take, its my heart thats making the decision hard. The sun card means I have happiness and joy waiting for me after the journey. Now that may be my brain has won and i have ignored the path that leads me back to this person and I chose myself over them. Or that means that no matter what path I take as long as I have my family then I will be happy. Cards can be hard to read and its all about how you read them and bring them to your views. I love using my cards they always give me great advice and they always help when need. I hope you enjoyed this post today and I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Hey all, Now I am always asked where to start off when going on to this path. What books are the most helpful and where do I get them from. So I thought I might as well do a post about the best starter books in my view will help you out starting on this path. Now I have mentioned theses books before and even though I have been a pagan my whole life, these books helped me learn bits and bobs I didnt know about. Yes these are wiccan based witchcraft but if your anything like me you will pick and mix your information to help better your information and the path you are on. Now these books are off amazon, I believe they cost me £5 each and each book has a different theme. These are the books I own there are many other books in this series that I haven't gotten yet but hopefully will in the future. Even though I know most aspects theres always space to learn new tricks. I found that these books are easy to read and very straight forward, with lots of information tips and ticks on how to better your craft. The latest book I brought was the wheel of the year magic because I wanted to learn more about our holidays. I always love learning new aspects about my craft and these books are amazing. Now I will talk about each book I own and why I brought them. The first book I got was the candle magic book. I was getting back into my craft and wanted to fresh my information and reteach myself the basics. This book was a great starting point which I have mentioned in other posts. The book has the basics of candle magic and even gives you simple spell works to get you started off. Basically to get you inspired to work with candles within magic. The second book I got was the essential oil magic. This was because I have been into my essential oils for many years and I wanted to learn more about using these as tools within my magic. I learned a lot from this book and also helped me understand different aspects of essential oils. At the back of this book you also get little blends and spell work to get you started of with. Its a great starter book. The third book I brought was the herbal magic. This was because I was getting into my herbs and I wanted to learn more about herbs and how they can help within my craft. I also had a load of herbs from my pagan parcel that I had no idea what to do with because I was never allowed to do magic growing up without my mother so I never really learned anything for myself because she did it all. This was a great book to start of with again. The back of the book does has a lot of information about using herbs within craft and some spell work to get you started of with. The last book which I brought in march this year was the wheel of the year magic. I know a lot about my holidays but I wanted to learn more about celebrating them and the reasons why we did celebrate them. This book gives you all the information to celebrate each holiday including spells to thank the god and goddess and the history behind them. Its a great starting book for any new witch to learn from. The author who does this series of wicca books is Lisa Chamberlain and shes amazing. She writes each book in such a way that its easy to follow and understand. She fills each book with so much information and love for the craft. Its why I will always say these are the best starting books for any witch because there just amazing. I do hope you check these books out and see for yourself why I love them so much. I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Hey all, So a couple of months ago I got black salt in one of my pagan parcels and I wanted to know what I could use this for. I did some research and found a couple of ways I could use this. I thought I might as well share it with you all so then you all know what to do with it too. 1] You can use black salt in a dish or bag under the pillow this helps to ward of bad dreams and unwanted watchers or spirits. 2] Black salt can be used to cast a line across a door or window, this keeps out evil and avoid unwanted company. It also reflects slander or jealousy back to the source. 3] You can also mix into your floor wash to help cleanse your home from negative energy. 4] I have also found out that you could add some to your bath to help dis-spell depression and negative thoughts. 5] Some people even carry it around with them in a little bag to ward themselves from negative energy, gossip and bullies. Bear in mind you would have to change this out each week because black salt absorbs negative energy. I know there are many other ways you could use black salt but theses are the ones that stood out at me. I haven't actually used mine yet but now I know how I could use them I may have to. I do hope you found this post helpful and I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Hey all, So many people around now will be having problems sleeping at night because of the heat. Now I suffer from insomnia so this is a normal thing for me but I thought that I should share my insomnia essential oil blend with you all to hopefully help you guys get some sleep even with the hot weather. When I use mine I normally have such a wonderful sleep and I have been using this blend for years. You will need: - A roller bottle.(I buy mind of amazon) - 15 drops of lavender essential oil, - 10 drops of vetiver essential oil, - 5 drops of frankincense essential oil, - 5 drops of ylang ylang essential oil, - 5 drops of wild orange essential oil, - A carrier oil of your choice. I use coconut oil mostly. I first add the 15 drops of lavender oil into the bottle, followed by the 10 drops of vetiver oil. I then mix these two together by carefully moving the bottle to side to side. I do this 5 times. I then ass the last 3 essential oils into the bottle. This is 5 drops of each, frankincense, ylang ylang and wild orange essential oil. I then again carefully moving the bottle to side to side. This mixes all the essential oils together to make a lovely smelling blend. Then all you do is top the bottle up with the carrier oil of your choice. I personally use coconut oil for many of my blends including this one. I then add the roller onto the bottle followed by the lid and shake 5 times to make sure the essential oil and the carrier oil mixed well. I then keep this next to my bed on the side table ready to use at night to help me sleep. I hope this blend helps you out as much as it has helped me out. I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x (Hey all, So today I want to share another essential oil recipe that I have found and used. I made this fibromyalgia blend for my nan who suffers from it. She uses a roller bottle to put it on her wrists when her fibromyalgia acts up. I know many people out there suffers from fibromyalgia and this is a natural way to help sooth the pain. You will need: - A roller bottle. ( I get mine of amazon) - 20 drops of chamamile essential oil - 20 drops of lavender essential oil - 20 drops of wild orange essential oil - 20 drops of marjoram essential oil - Fraction coconut oil. (this is the carrier oil used) I first line up the essential oils I will be using for this blend. I then add 20 drops of each essential oil into the bottle. The essentials I use in this blend as listed above are chamomile, lavender, wild orange and marjoram essential oil. Once all essential oils have been added into the bottle I then add the coconut carrier oil into the bottle. I then add the roller on the bottle and lid. I shake 5 times to make sure the mixture is blended well and then all you have to do is carry this around with you ready for when you need it. I make this my nan a lot because she says it helps her. She keeps hers next to her bed because its normally night when hers acts up. I do hope you find this post helpful and useful. I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Hey all, So back in march I got my book of shadows my newest one anyway. I thought I would do a update on how its going and also a contents that may help fellow witches having trouble finding ideas to put into their book of shadows. I have spoken to many fellow witches on the path and we all go through the stage of writers block as such were you don't know what to put into your book of shadows if anything. I know people have even left it for months without writing into it. I for one make it a point to write into my book of shadows at least once a week. On a good week its may be twice but that doesn't mean I don't have problems finding what to put inside. Now in no means do you have to follow what I have done. Its your own book of shadows and its your own journey. For me I try to focus on one aspect each week. It keeps me learning new information and also helps me work within my book of shadows. First I will go into a little detail on why I picked my book of shadows as many of you might of missed my first post about it. For me I have worked in many book of shadows from note books to even doing a sketch book style one. Nothing really clicked for me. I wanted my book of shadows to be special to me and to mean something more than just a cheap note book. I saved up my money that I had left from a couple of months of pay and brought myself the A5 size (slightly bigger than A5) leather bound book. It has a pentagram on the front as for me thats protection against negative energy and focus. The pages inside is handmade so its like the book was made for a book of shadows. Its special to me and no one else touches it apart form me. Now I will do a list of contents that I have done myself inside my book of shadows. I will say you don't have to follow my contents or even use it at all but I thought it might give you some ideas on how to sort your book of shadows out and also inspire you in some way to put contents inside, you should try and connect with your book of shadows at lest once a week even if its just spending 10 minutes reading what you have put inside. Contents: - I first did a front page thats just to have my own name on it so the book knows who the owner is. I also wrote a little something about my path and how it means to me. - I have left a page empty for contents but I have now found out that I haven't got enough room for a contents as I have so much inside my book of shadows. In future I will leave a couple of pages haha. - I have a page about me, my past and my introduction to the craft. I have done this in all my books of shadows its basically to make it more personal to yourself. - I have my oath to the craft on another page. This oath I like to read to myself once in a while to reclaim the oath and make it more powerful. - I then have a page with the witches year on. Theres space along the bottom where I can write more information about the witches year if I wish to but apart form that its like a date page showing which dates the holidays come on. - I then have a page for each sabbat. Thats to write down all information needed that I myself find useful. When I finish this book of shadows I think I may buy the bigger book of this and have more pages per sabbat as I have learned so much on them now that I dont have room for. -I then have a chart about the power of colour, and the colour meanings. This I use all the time when planning my altar and craft work. - I have a page about empaths and what it means for me to be an empath. - Then theres a page about moon faces. - I have a page about days and times which also comes in handy for craft work. - I have a page for meditating and cantering yourself. -I then have a page for each of the elements. - I have two pages about the dice of fate which came in one of my pagan parcels. Really handy. - I have a page about black salt uses and how to create it. - I have just added the witches alphabet chart into my book which I will be planning on uses later this week. - I then have a chunk of my book saved for herbs and teas. What I learn about the herbs I use most and what tea recipes that I want to use a lot and create. - I also have a page about smudging and cleansing which is always helpful. - I then have another chunk of my book saved for crystals and the chakras. I write all the uses I find and my fave crystals uses within my book here. Its really handy to have a little bit of information about each of the crystal you have in your kit, or its handy for me anyway. -Divination. I have a chunk of my book saved for divination and I have written about many aspects that I have learned about different tools. I have two pages for runes, two pages for scrying, A page for dowsing, and a three pages about dreams. I also plan on doing a big chunk about tarot reading as thats the main divination tool I use personally at this time. I love learning different ways to use these tools and will build upon what I have done in the future. I have more in my book of shadows such as spells for each sabbat, blessings for tools ect. I personally wont list them on here as they are special for me. Its like I wont take pictures of whats inside my book of shadows. I dont mind doing a contents like above as its all basic tools and information many of us should know or have in their book of shadows. I also have plans on other chapters for my book of shadows but that will most likely be added to book of shadows v3 when I do get to that stage. I hope you find this post helpful and many be even inspire you to work within your book of shadows more. I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Hey all, With the weather getting hotter many of us come home to our homes smelling of smelly feet or just plain sweat. Trust me when I say coming home to my partner after hes been in work i use these all the time. They are also great for removing bad smells from your shoes which is fabulous. I use these simple air fresheners for all sorts of things through out the year. With me having indoor cats I have to use theses at lot. Anyway I thought I would share these simple recipes for your natural air freshener. The first one I will mention is one I use a lot around the front door where we keep our shoes and also around the bathroom where I dont actually have a window in so its needed a lot. You will need: - Distilled water - A spray bottle of your choice - 6 drops of bergamot essential oil - 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil - 5 drops of lemon essential oil I first put in the 6 drops of bergamot essential oil into the spray bottle, I then add 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil and 5 drops of lemon essential oil into the spray bottle. Then you add the distilled water and put your lid on the spray bottle. I shake the bottle 5 times to mix all the essential oils and water together. Then all you have to do is spray the air with this every time you want to deodorise your home. The next spray bottle I will tell you about is one thats really helpful if you have pets. My cats in the summer always make nasty smells haha. Cant blame them because they are indoor cats and well the cat litter is their toilet. Anyway this spray helps clear the air of the nasty smell that we use after cleaning up what caused that nasty smell. you will need: - distilled water - a spray bottle of your choice - 6 drops of cedarwood essential oil - 3 drops of tea tree essential oil. I first put the 6 drops of cedarwood and 3 drops of tea tree essential oil into the spray bottle. I then add the distilled water into the bottle. I put the lid on the bottle and shake 5 times making sure the mixture has been mixed well. I then keep this in the bathroom behind the cat litter on the shelve ready to use in needed times. I hope these two air fresheners help you through out the summer and I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x |
