Merry meet everyone, Today I will be sharing with you another book of shadows spell that a friend of mine sent me last week and I thought it would be handy to keep in our spell chest here on the blog and also a good one to share with you all for your own books of shadows. You will need: - A couple of white candles, any shape or size. - A mirror, - A moon card from a tarot deck You will begin by placing and arranging your white candles on the mirror, just use what you have available in your home. You will need to leave room in the centre of the mirror. In that space you will have to place your moon card from a tarot deck. Don't worry if you don't have a tarot deck though you could always draw a moon on a piece of paper if needed. The moon card is traditionally known to represent intuition, dreams, uncertainty and illusion. You will be using this spell to help refine your powers of intuition and perception. You will need to let the powers of the full moon increase your understanding that you may not always see the total picture. Let this card remind you to look closely but also to trust your intuition. We can't relay solely on our intuition or what we see, we need a balance of both. Light each white candle in turn and chant: "Reflect the truth, help me see, beyond mirage and mystery, Let illusions be dispelled, intuition be upheld, let the moonlight be my guide, revealing where the truth can hide" Once you feel the energy of the moon light guide you sit there for awhile and be one with it. Once you are ready blow each candle out one and a time and come back to your normal routine. I hope this helps you connect more with your intuition and that it is a handy spell for you in the future. As always you can follow me on instagram @paganvibesonly to keep updated on my daily witchy life and what I am up to away from the blog. I hope to see you all in the next blog post. Stay safe and blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, So I have been asked by a load of followers is I have ever considered being in a coven. The short answer to this is not really. I feel like a coven you have to put a lot of energy into magic workings for others and you don't really get much out of it for yourself. This is all just from hearing from other witches I have spoken to in the past about it. From this moment of time I don't personally know any witches in my area or if there is any local covens. I would love to meet other witches and that for me would be the only reason why I would join a coven in the first place. To learn from witches who have been doing this longer but also to connect with like minded people who would have my magical back if you will. I do wish that I had witchy friends local to me that we could meet up and chat about whatever but also for magical help and would be amazing to do swaps each. That being said I have one amazing witchy friend who I write to a lot and speak to a lot on facebook and through instagram. She is amazing and has helped out a lot. Shes also really creative and is slowly creating her own witchy shop which I really can't wait for her to get all together. I will be sharing her shop with you all once its all in one piece and sorted because it will be amazing and something you all would really enjoy. Personally being in a coven isn't for me because I don't know anyone close to me but also I like doing things when I want to do them not when other people want to do them. I would love to celebrate sabbats in a coven but the other stuff would probably drive me bonkers. If you personally are in a coven let me know how you feel about it. Has it helped you as a witch? If you want to let me know all theses questions I have asked then message me on instagram @paganvibesonly. I am always just a click away and I post daily about what I am doing each day away from the blog. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this small but sweet post and I will see you all in the next one. Stay safe everyone <3 Blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, So I have been asked by many 'baby witches' what they should research to start them off. I have seen this to be a common question that most people ask when starting the path anyway. I even asked this when I first started out and I was luckily enough to have family members to guide me as such. That being said its such a massive area of research you could dive into and it can get really confusing at times. This is why I have created a list of aspects you should really research first because you need to have some understanding before going forward into other subjects in the group of magic. Firstly you should always research the history of witches and witchcraft as a whole. If you don't then why go on a path that you wont fully understand. You should always learn where it came from and why its still about today before going forward. Its common sense but then again people still ask why. For me personally you should understand what and where witchcraft came from and learn from the past. They were wise women and men who followed the path way before us and we learn their teachings that way. Its also just a great read for you the understand where magic comes from and why we are so connected to it. Another great subject for you to research is crystals. Yes I am a big lover of crystals and you shouldn't be surprised they are on here but they are really handy to have. Buy yourself a book about all the basic crystals and start from there. They are really handy for simple blessings, energy transfers even offerings to your gods. I use crystals for everything from cleansing rooms to healing myself or even when I have writers block. I just love them. There super handy to know about and they can transform your life if you use them right. Magical tools is another subject you should research. This is one you should understand early on, but you don't need to own all or any of theses items straight away. I spent years building my collection and I still don't own it all because I am looking for the perfect items. When your doing your book of shadows create some pages about the magical tools you could use within your craft but also ones you could use instead of. I did this and it was super fun to do and really made me think what I already owned that I could use it for. Colour properties is another great subject matter that you should learn early on in your craft. You should understand what colours represent while using candles or your earlier spell workings. Don't worry if you dont connect that feeling to the colour your using. You should always feel and follow your gut when using colour representing but you should also have some guide line while starting off. Familiars and deities are some really good subjects you should start looking into. You don't have to have either one straight away it took me years to have either one and even then I still have a good understanding about each subject matter and still love learning more about the deities side. This year I have actually focused my time researching Celtic deities because theres so many to learn about. Follow your path and see where they take you. Herbs is another handy subject you should learn about earlier on your path because we witches love herbs. I have over 60 herbs in my collection and I am still learning about them to this day but I have a very good understanding about each herb and what I can and can not use them for. You should always know what herb your using and the safety side of using them before even trying to do anything with them. I am a green witch and love using them but I will never use a herb I don't fully understand. Some other subjects you could research is mediating, being Eco friendly within your home or even covens. Theses are all subjects I have been asked about but not as often as the others. I will be doing a blog post in the future about what kind of things you can put in your book of shadows so keep a look out for that. But for now that is everything done for today's post, I do hope this helped you start off your research focuses and I am hoping to do a post about books that may help you for theses subjects later on this year. If you have any questions then send them my way on instagram @paganvibesonly I am always just a click away and I am happy to help you on your path. For now that is everything and I will see you all in the next post. Stay safe everyone. Blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, I thought this would be a handy spell for the summer season. Its normally when you are doing all your gardening projects and where you find a lot of gnome statues in peoples gardens. That being said gnomes are really helpful beings that provide strength, steadfastness, endurance and the ability of transmutation. This spell helps you to invoke them when you feel weak, unruly or in a danger of being led astray. You will need for this spell a black candle and a simple rock large enough to at least nearly fill the palm of your hand. I normally use pebbles because they fit perfectly in my palm. You will need to face the north or the direction your tradition associates with the earth element, for me thats north. Focus on that direction and ground yourself, make yourself centre and at peace. Place the candle on your altar, with the rock in front of it so that from your vantage point the rock completely obscures the candle flame. Enter a trance like state and gaze at the rock so that you can see the light of the candle around it. Call to the gnomes, the conscious beings of earth, to appear before you: "Creatures of the silent earth, Reveal here to me your form" Look into the stone with the witches eye, your inner sight. Allow the gnomes to reveal themselves to you. Once they have, you may commune with them as much as you wish. Don't forget you will need to leave offerings for them as a thank you for their help. I hope this spell helps you in your future craft, its a handy one to keep in your book of shadows. As always you can keep up to date with my side of things by following me on instagram @paganvibesonly, I post daily all about my daily witchy life and what I am doing away from the blog. I hope to see you all in the next post. Stay safe and blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, So I am here today to speak to you all about my Litha sabbat plan. Now you should all know by now that I have theses inserts in my witches planner that gives you a page to plan what you want to do for the sabbat. Now I have planned this a month ahead as I am getting ahead for this blog just in case I am back at work. That being said a lot of what I have planned has been put in place to cover being in lock-down or not. So my plan for the day is to spend time within mother nature. So I will either go for a walk or a bike ride and i'll take my book of shadows with me and just sit somewhere and be one with nature. I love that idea and to be fair I have been spending more time within nature now that I am not in work at the moment. Or as I am writing this anyway. I also have planned to have my altar changed for this sabbat. The last sabbat my altar didn't change much because lock-down had really effected me and I didn't feel like celebrating anything back then. I have also planned for my altar to have quite a few crystals on it this time. I have been buying a lot more crystals as of lately and I just love having all of them on my altar. I will also have my blue altar cloth on there unless I can get myself a green one but last time I checked where I buy my altar cloths from is closed. I also plan to create a fruity pudding that goes along side my slimming world diet just to mix both together. I haven't decided what I am making yet it depends on what I can get my hands on but I will be sharing this on instagram @paganvibesonly if this does ahead. I will also be doing my Litha sabbat blessing which I do every year at either sunrise or early morning depending on when I wake up. I won't go into detail about that as its very personal for myself but there are many different blessings out there if you want some ideas for your own celebration. The next two sections on the insert as always is my altar ideas and the notes. Now my altar ideas always change when making my altar up I go with the flow and see what works and what doesn't. My plan is always like a guideline that way and also gives me what I want on my altar but not all of it. The notes is other aspects I should consider for the celebration such as incense scents and colours of candles ect. This gives me some good ideas for when I am working on my altar and my blessings. I feel like this really helps me get into the sabbat more and even if I am back at work by this point then I will celebrate Litha on one of my days off. I don't like missing celebrating sabbats and its one thing that while in lock-down has been effected by that. I hope you all have a blessed Litha and that you are all being safe. I hope you have enjoyed today's post and that it has given you some ideas, and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, So It's that time of month again, with another Freya's Cauldron subscription box. I love theses boxes and they have really upped their game this year with the items thats being put in them. As always I will mention the information sheets first and then get right into the goodies side. Sheets: -Introduction sheet to the box (This includes information about all items in the box). - Information about the herb in this months box. - Information about the crystals in this months box. - Mirror spell and rock spell sheets. I really love getting theses information sheets because there super handy to have and use within my book of shadows. I also keep the ones I will use in a folder like the information sheets about the items in the box because its always handy to have. The first item I got from the box was this amazing smelling Solstice candle dressing oil. This is a box exclusive and was hand blended just for this box. This oil is used for spell-workings during solstices when your during energy thats about that time of year. So the information stated this can be used around the summer and winter solstice which is really nice. Means it should last awhile. As always each months box you get a set of spell candles that are really helpful and handy to keep. I go through theses a lot and is always the colours I need that comes in theses boxes. I swear she reads my mind! This months colours were black, lime green, yellow and orange. I love the lime green candles my favourite colour at the moment too. These candles are all made for Freya's Cauldron and are all vegan friendly. These colours were chosen for this months box because its connected to Litha and you can use them for your spell workings this month or dress your altar with theses colours. The herb pot I got in this months box was the herb gotu kola. Now I am sure I have heard of this one before and may have even had it in my collection at one time or another but I really can't remember what uses its for. So the information sheet will be my best friend later on when I am reading it. I love getting herbs each month because there super handy to build my collection. Even though I had just purged my herb collection its always handy to get some new herbs in. The other herb pot was a special blend of herbs for Litha that they hand blended for this months box. This can be used as an offering on your altar or to burn in your cauldron. I can't really do either because I have cats that are a pain in the bum and burning in my cauldron in a flat is never a good idea haha. I will use this blend though even if I put them in fabric bags and hang them around my altar instead. This months crystal was an Angelite tumble stone. Now I haven't got this crystal which I know is a shock to me too haha. I love getting new crystals for my collection and this box is always bringing just what I need. Also handy to build my crystal grids up with loads of pretty powerful crystals. I will be reading this information sheet later on and to see how I bond with this crystal. I love getting bracelets in this box. This months wearable item is a beautiful sodalite crystal chip bracelet and I have been wearing it all day. Its beautiful and I can feel the energy vibes coming off it. Its just what I needed to cheer me up this week. I had also gotten this really handy manifestation ritual kit for this solstice and I am really looking forward to doing this. I will be doing it the day before Litha just because I have the flat to myself. I love getting theses spell kits and I always add them to my spell book of shadows. As you know Freya's Cauldron has always done something for the sabbats either as a plaque like last years boxes. Well this year they are doing theses beautiful information collectable cards and once I have collected all of them I will be added them to my book of shadows because they are just amazing. I am looking forward to collecting them all too. I just love the random items that they pop in too. This month we got a Stonehenge pocket mirror and its super cute. I will be carrying this around with me in my bag because I am always in need of a good mirror! The last two items is always the best two, but this time I have left theses last because they go together. So the best item in this months box is the wheel of the year incense plate. Its beautifully made and is just breath taking. I really can't wait to add this to my altar because it will complete my altar. I also got some sun incense sticks which is why I kept theses two items last. The sun incense sticks smells amazing and is perfect for this sabbat with the incense holder. Overall this months box is amazing like always and I really can't wait for the next box! No seriously please give me it now haha. Its like a witchy Yule each month with theses boxes and I just love them. I hope you subscribe to them because you really don't want to miss out on theses boxes there just amazing. As always I am on instagram @paganvibesonly if you wish to come chat or keep updated on all things away from the blog screen. I hope you are all staying safe and I will see you all in the next blog post. Blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, Today's post is another handy spell for your book of shadows. This one was given to me by a close friend of mine and has been really handy. For this spell I use a mini wooden chest that I got in one of my Freya's Cauldron boxes a couple of months ago. Its super cute and really handy for this type of spell. You will need to find a pretty box that you wish to use for this spell, it can be any type of box. Depending on what type of magic you want to draw into your life depends on what type of box you would like to use. Wood or stone works really well for natural magic, glass for technomagic and metal for both. I work more with natural magic which is why my box is wooden. You should avoid materials like silk or plastic though as theses don't work well with this spell. You will next need to take a square piece of paper and draw arrows from each corner so they meet the centre of the paper. Place this in the bottom of the box for attraction. Now you should add symbols of magic, good stones include amber, carnelian, gernet, hawks eye, lapis and selenite. I personally have selenite in my chest and lapis. You will then need to choose your herbs such as allspice, bergamot, cardamon pods, whole cloves, dragons blood, lemon peel, patchouli, or anise stars. I use lemon peel, anise stars and all spice. You should also add any images that represent magic for yourself, so for me I have small images of trees, florals and of course my pentagram tattoo but this is different for everyone and its to connect yourself to the magic too. You now have to visualise power flowing into the box, close it and keep it on your altar for when you need it. I hope you find this really handy for yourself and make a note of this in your book of shadows. As always you can keep in touch with me by following me on instagram @paganvibesonly, I post daily all about my witchy life and my life away from the blog. I hope to see you again in the next post. Stay safe and blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, I have had this book in my pile of book reviews that have been needing to be done for months. So today's post will be a first impressions of the book which means sharing the book blurb with you all and why I wanted to get this book. Luckily for me I make a note about each book I buy just because I know it will take a while for me to get through them all. I do love my books. Blurb: "Unlock the magick of modern witchcraft and infuse your every day with happiness. Discover everything you need to know to become a modern witch, from working with tarot cards and healing crystals to learning how to harness the power of the natural world and understand the stars"/ So first of all this is very much a beginner book in most aspects. The reason I brought this book was because it had crystal grids inside and I wanted to learn more about them. Also for £5 I thought it would be a great book to review for you all and to share what I think of the book. Also looking inside the book its really fresh looking and is jam packed with information that even I will find really handy to use. There is 9 informational chapters in this book not including the introduction and the index. The chapters include: - Getting spiritual, - Finding your rituals, - Harnessing your cosmic energy, - Cleansing crystals and dispelling toxic energy, - Embrace your psychic power with tarot, - The magick of nature, - Everyday spellcraft, - Let the magick begin. Overall I do think this book is a great addition to my collection and a really great introduction book to the path for those just starting out. For the price it is well worth it and I am actaully looking forward to reading this one and seeing what more this book can offer me. I will be doing another post later on in the future about this book more once I have gotten round to reading this book. For now you can always follow me on instagram @paganvibesonly to be kept in the loop for all things witchy and what I do outside of this blog. I also post about books I have and am reading at that time. I do try to post daily but life does get in the way but I am always just one click away from a chat if you want to get in contact. For now I hope you enjoyed today's post and I will see you in the next one. Stay safe and blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, Today's post is all about creating a protection talisman using a key. This is because keys are commonly found, so its handy to keep in plain sight too for those who are in the witchy closet. You can use this talisman when the stray energies flying around you are getting to be a bit much to tolerate. You will have to find yourself a key and a length of cord that you feel is right for yourself to wear around your neck. I would go for a vintage looking key myself but its all down to what you feel drawn too. You can't use this key for any other function apart from being a talisman because it will effect the protection side of things if you do. Its best to get yourself a new key one that doesn't belong to anything. Any style key will work the same just use the one your drawn too. You will also need to light a candle to Hecate and attach the cord to the key so that it may be worn as a necklace and place the key next to the candle. Then say the following: "Goddess Hecate, Guardian of witches, Your dark cloak of protection, I do invoke! A key to unlock theses mysteries, Enchant and instill, I'll wear it around my neck, So that with your protection I shall fill! So mote it be!" You will have to allow the candle to safely burn down and then you may remove your talisman and wear as needed. This is a really simple way of making a talisman and one I love doing quite often. I hope this one comes in handy for yourself and that you will make use of this spell in the future. As always you can keep in touch with me on instagram @PaganVibesonly, were I post daily about my witchy journey and what I get up to away from the blog. I hope to see you again in the next post. Blessed be and stay safe x PaganVibesOnly x Merry meet everyone, So I have planned that today's post will be all about different witchy journals you could be doing daily to still stay connected to the witchy path. As you may already know about me I do love my journaling and I feel like it helps me keep notes down and keep track of how I am getting on with my studies in the magical sense. I also love how I can connect to my witchy side while doing very normal daily routines while in work which I will get more into later on. I bet you all have loads of notebooks that you have either brought or been gifted and haven't used yet and why is that? I have so many note books that I personally haven't touched yet and thats going to change. I have decided to start doing some more witchy journaling to keep track of some amazing aspects and I think you should too. I will be sharing with you all different types and ways you could be using theses empty notebooks for your witchy needs and also some others that you may want to try too. Divination Journal: So I have started a journal for my one card a day pulls. I do this to connect with my cards each day and to find new ways to read into the cards. I have found this has helped me out really well for my card readings and also keeping up with my posts on my instagram which I post theses every morning once I have done them. I also find it fun being creative using my washi tapes and stickers to make each page very special and it also helps me get in the right set of mind for the rest of the day. Its super fun and its a great way you can go back and see how you started with your card readings too. Dream Journal: Now I did have a dream journal myself but I have slipped slightly the last couple of months because of the lock down that went down and also other aspects of my life. I really enjoyed doing the sleep journal though because your dreams can mean anything but also could be trying to tell you something you need to remember or learn. I really love doing theses and I have planned to start my journal up again so hopefully we will all know what our dreams are saying soon. For this one I would say keep your journal next to your bed and when you wake up jot down any key words, or colours or anything that came from your dream and then look into the meanings behind them once your more awake. This will help you not forget anything you may want to remember. Garden Journal: Now I don't have a garden journal because I don't have a garden but for this I have a herb journal instead. If you have a garden then keep a journal of all your growing herbs and what you want to do with them. Different uses and magical workings that may connect with each herb ect. For me I make a note of each herb I own in my collection and some information about each herb. I have found this fun to do because I have been very creative with my pages and its like a way to escape the world around us for a little while. I would recommend starting one of theses kinds of journals if you are a kitchen or green witch. Witchy cookbook: Now for me my witchy cookbook is my normal cook book because I like mixing cooking with my magic. Its what kitchen witchery is all about and I love keeping a note of what worked and what didn't. This will also be passed down to future generations in my family once I have completed my cook book because I love the idea of sharing what I have found worked or not with others. This is a really good way to keep track of your cooking recipes that have worked also and mixing both daily and witchy together while making pasta. Planners: Now I have been using the witches planner all year and has really worked out great for me. I feel connected to my witchy side every day while marking my boring work side. It helps me balance out both sides of me and makes me feel more balanced each day. I find it fun mixing both the witchy side and normal side in a planner because it helps me keep track of everything from the moon phases to sabbats and also when I should be doing my readings and when I should be working on my altar. I do use a lot of stickers in my planners which you can see on my instagram account as I do share my weekly spreads on there and I get my stickers from crafty planning because she has so many witchy stickers that has really helped me keep track of everything. Its really fun and another way to get your creative side out. Book of shadows: As witches we do like keep track of everything and a good way to use your note books is making a book of shadows. It doesn't have to be pretty or neat it can just be a way for you to jot down notes and what worked or didn't for yourself. I do this a lot and then transfer the information across to my main book of shadows later on. I find this a great way to not forget anything and then you don't have to worry if you spill anything on it either. I hope I have given you some really good ideas for some witchy journals because its a great way to stay connected and also to ground yourself when you feel a little lost. I love working in journals and I hope you find working in journals as fun and relaxing as I do. As always you can follow me on instagram @paganvibesonly like I said before I do post a lot about my journals and other witchy aspects of my life so come join in on the fun. I hope you enjoyed todays post and I will see you all in the next one. Stay safe and blessed be x PaganVibesOnly x |
