Merry meet everyone,
So today's question is : what does this time of year mean to you? So its the end of march as march is a hard month for me and my family. My great grandmother past away four years ago in march so this month always brings me sorrow. Most people say that the more time that passes helps. Thats a lie! I haven't missed her any less or thought of her any less. The ache I have that was left there with her passing is still as strong as the day she passed this world. So for march I always have a lot of candles burning on my altar. I honour her in a blessing on her day of passing and I keep something of hers on my altar for the whole month. For me its a picture. This helps me get through the month and also to show her that I still miss her and love her and she can never be replaced. This time of year is also the time of renewal and new beginnings. So I always go around my home and cleanse each room from negative energies for the coming seasons. I also celebrate the sabbats that has been and is coming up. I love this time of year from April on wards because the seasons are getting warmer and also nature is waking up. For me its a great time to reconsider your studies and where you want the path to lead you as well. I hope you have a good spring beginning and that I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, Today's post is about lemongrass. My favourite herb for the summer and my favourite incense smell as well. The information in this post is from one of the past unboxing posts and I thought it would be useful to share with you all. The cleansing action of lemongrass is two fold. it clears up any obstacles standing in your way and as such has developed a reputation for being an important ingredient in road opening magical work, and it also is known to help in changing bad luck to good making it especially popular with those who have been afflicted by negative conditions. Because of its ability to foster cleansing and open conditions, lemongrass is sometimes used in love magic. I personally use this over the summer because the smell of lemongrass is amazing and also it helps clear my mind. I hope you enjoyed todays post and you found it useful. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is a little different because I wanted to do an updated altar and space post. I have been working on my new-ish altar for a couple of months now and I do believe I did a little update post about it when I first sorted it out. Now some aspects will most likely be the same and others would of changed slightly. With working in my space I do change bits up to make it more effective for me. So on one of my days off a couple of weeks ago I resorted underneath my display cabinet so it was tidy and organised again. I also did this so I could fit my crystal storage there as well so its not where it use to be where I was worried it would get knocked off and broken. Its one of the reasons I didn't fill the storage up with my crystals for a very long time. On the top of my altar is my main focal altar where I have all my candles and incense burning. This is used all the time. If I am sat at my desk working on my blog or other aspects of my day I will always have some kind of incense burning and also my main altar candles lit. I have many jars of candles which I get gifted a lot by family members and friends for christmas and birthdays so I always have this burning on my altar. The one I have at the moment on my altar which will be getting changed soon is the cinnamon and spice apple which I got for christmas. The one I am planning on changing it to is my lemon grass one which I normally have burning for spring seasons. (I love the Yankee candle ones) I always go through taper candles like I am eating them haha. At the moment I am looking for a good supply of taper candle colours for the main two back holders. The two pentagram altars I have are for my spell colour candles and I do have a good supply of them. (If they last as long as I hope anyway) The second main altar is what I have inside my display cabinet. This was my great grandmothers and I just love it to bits, the old vintage look and I know its been passed down from three generations now if you miss out my mother and my Nan. (so more like 5 generations). The bottom shelve is full of my witchy books that I don't use very often but can get access to anyway. I also have all my herb jars and incense cones in jars in the bottom right corner. This is ever growing and I do think that in the future it will take over the bottom shelve and I will have to resort the shelving out. The second shelve is more of a place where I have added items that mean something special to me but I don't know where else to put them. So theres my harry potter wand that I got last November from my London trip, theres my snow globes that I love and hold dear, Theres also my small cauldron that was gifted to me by a family member and a load of raw crystals. I have my special feather ink dip pen on display as my cats would kill it if I had it out and about. I have my smudge bowl which I use a lot and is on the middle shelve because its easy to get to. (again sand is inside this so I cant have it out and about just in case my cats knock it over). The top shelve is where I have both my jars of incense sticks in each corner and all my main items for display. So I have the goddess and mother earth statues, I have my main candle snuffer, my witch and fairy statues. I have my little items that honour the seasons and again raw crystals on there. I do have some items that I got in my witch unboxings as well like the small wooden bowl with salt in and my ostra wooden disc thats on display at the moment. So I also have cube shelving above my altar on the left side and this has more witchy books on display. These are the ones I use the most so I have them here so I can just grab and go. In the little chest next to my god and goddess statues are my altar oils. These are oils that I have gotten in my unboxings so I keep them together because they are special oils and I dont want them mixed with my essential oils as I do have a load of them as well. I also have a smaller altar where I do have most of my images on my blog around this one. I always do my staged images on this because theres more room and also easier to fit in the frame. I use this smaller altar to do my card readings and I also use this altar to do my meditation when I do get some peace and quite haha. I love this little altar because its just a handy little space where I can do my spell work and write in my book of shadows and just relax around it. I also have on the other side of my main altar a small storage area where I have my old cabinet that now stores my essential oils and room sprays that I have gotten from unboxings and also what I have collected over the years. I have also got special necklaces handing off the front of this on hooks and wall hangings that I haven't had a chance to put up yet or that I like them where they are. The last is the last bit I will go through in this post I will most likely have to do another post just so this isnt as long as it was going to be. Anyway this area is where my old cabinet is but also where I store both my book of shadows and as you can see theres two charmed within boxes in one of my cubes being used for storage. I loved the idea of usable boxes that I got in that subscription box. The bottom drawer has loads of information sheets and spell kits that I have gotten in my unboxings which I haven't used or wrote down in my book of shadows. The top drawer has all my long taper candles and pillar candles. I needed a good storage place for them as I always have to move everything to get to them and it didn't work well for me in the long run. Now I have fast access to my candles that I do burn a lot. I hope you enjoyed today's post and that you got some great ideas for your own altar. This is my altar that I have all the time. It will be dressed slightly different for the seasons and for the sabbats but there wasn't any point doing that side of it in this post as this is the one that is all year round. Or until I change it up again. I hope you enjoyed today's post and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie Merry meet everyone, Today's question is : Do you use crystals? why? how? From the image I have added to this post the answer would be yes I do use crystals and I have a really good collection of crystals as well. The image I have added is just a handful of crystals that I actually own. I have many raw crystals on my altar and around my home. I always believe that the crystals help boost positive energy around the home. I use my crystals in many aspects of my craft work, from dressing my altar to boosting protection bags, or just carrying them around with me to help boost my mood. I have crystals in many forms as well, from necklaces, bracelets to pendulums. I have them in tumble form and raw form. For me I buy crystals that call out to me, so the crystals I have actually brought myself have drawn me to them by their energies. There is a load of crystals that I have gotten from my unboxing that I have been doing for over a year now and thats a great way to build upon your collection but I do buy a lot of crystals from a local store in the near city (when the trains are working). There is many ways you can use crystals and for me I just use them when needed. At the moment I am using one crystal in my bag under my pillow to help with nightmares and bad dreams. I also use my selenite wand to hold and help me clear my mind and remove creative block. Some crystals work great with me where others dont. It depends on the nature you want to use them in and for me its like a family. I hope you enjoyed todays post and I will see you all in the next one. Blessed be x MissDoomie Merry meet everyone, Today's post is all about the herb mug wort. Its only a short post because information is from one of the past witchy unboxings that I have done. I thought this information would be useful to share. Carried to increase lust and fertility, Can prevent backache and cure disease and madness. Place around divination and scrying tools to increase their power or near the bed to enable astral travel. Use in sleep pillow or place in a sachet under your pillow to bring about prophetic dreams. Use an infusion of mug-wort to clean crystal balls and magical mirrors. Also called: Felon herb, st johns plant, naughty man, oild man, sailors tabacco. I hope this post helped you and you found it interesting. I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is about the green witch book I brought just before christmas but forgot about doing a post about it until going though my 'new' witchy books. I have seen some great reviews about this book and thought I should get myself a copy and see if its as helpful as many people have stated. I love the green witch title because the book is all about natural magic and herbs. I am at that stage of my studies that I am focusing more on the natural side of magic such as herbs, essential oils and the powers of different flowers and foods. I have been interested in this side of the magic aspects for a while but haven't focused on the learning side for a while. There is so much information you can find about herbs ect that you will be learning aspects of this for years. This book starts with the basics like most books in this field. It goes through stages such as being one with nature and calling the power of nature to you. Theres a chapter about creating your own magical garden which is what I will be focusing on. I love how this book has also got recipes for the kitchen and herbal healing as well which is the side I am looking forward to learning more off. Overall once I get the chance to read this on my free time I am going to really enjoy this book. I hope you all enjoyed todays post and I will see you all in the next one. Blessed be x ,MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone,
Todays question is : Do you have a spirit/ power /familiar animal? I personally only have familiars because they speaks to me more than the other two ever did. My two fluff balls (cats) are my familiars. One is more than the other because he is always with me when I work in my book of shadows or do any spell work. But they are both very close to me and the younger brother is slowly getting joining in which is why I said they are both my familiars. I did have another one growing up but sadly he had passed away. Mew personally I believe you have to have a special connection to the animal before you can consider them as your familiar and even though both my cats are very different and one I am closer with more than the other, I do have a special connection with both of them. I hope you enjoyed todays post and I will see you in the next one. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is about St.Johns wort which is a good herb to have in your kit. The information in this post is from one of my past witchy subscription boxes. Worn to prevent colds and fevers. Placed under a pillow to induce prophetic, romantic dreams. Protects against all forms of black witchcraft. Place in a jar in a window or burn in a fireplace to protect from lightening, fire and evil spirits. Used for banishing, protection and blessings. Carry to strengthen courage and convictions or when confronting nasty situations. Burn to banish spirits and demons in household. Used in divination for the care of crystals. Important note: can be poisonous, use with caution. Herbs also called: goat weed, herba john, kalimath weed, tipton weed. I hope you find this post interesting and I will see you all in the next one. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is another book of spells that I brought a couple of weeks ago but haven't had a chance to do a post about. I love finding theses £3 books at the works because they are such a great addition to my book collection and also full of useful spells and information. See this book starts of talking about spell casting and giving you tips and tricks into setting up and preparing spell casting which for me personally isn't needed but is great for someone who is a beginner because it helps them start of right. What draw me to this book was the protection spells thats included inside the book. It starts from basics like protection for your home to protection for yourself and loved ones. Its a really in-depth book around protection which worked really well. I have plans on writing some of theses in my book of shadows again the ones that speaks to me more than others. I would hope you all check out the works bookshop in the UK because they do have some great cheap books full of great information. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today I am reviewing my second Freya's cauldron subscription box. This months is all about spell casting, so most of the items in this months box is to go along with spell casting which for me is a great theme but also a great way for beginners to learn some things about spells as well. I do love getting this box because its more centred around the magic side than others I have gotten. I don't mean that the others were not like that but I do feel like this box gives you more freedom with the magic and sometimes better information. Anyway I will start with the information sheets and then talk about everything else that I got in this months box. So the information that I got in this months box was the introduction sheet that tells you a bit about each item, an information sheet about candle magic, runes and zodiac symbols which will end up in my book of shadows as its really handy information to have. I got a healing spell sheet, a home protection spell vial sheet, candle colour correspondences sheet (which is in more depth than others i have had in the past) and a information sheet about the herb I got in this months box. I got another special oil in this months box. This one is called wisdom of the elders oil. From the information I have on this, this was hand made and came from Freya's own records which has been passed down through generations. This information just makes this oil even more special. Its not just something someone has mixed together to make money it has the intent and the power behind it with the history and knowledge that has been passed down through out the years. It smells amazing too. This oil is used to add the power of the elders to your spell work. Freya stated that its a great use for candle dressing and adding to herb bags. She also stated that she uses this oil all the time. She recommends diluting the oil is you want to use it on your skin and always test it before you head straight to using it on your skin as it may cause your skin to react. She also stated that this oil is not in her shop and she has never given this out before so we are very lucky to receive this in this months box. The next item is always one that makes getting theses boxes each month useful for me is the spell candles. I go through candles so fast that I need a monthly supply. The information that I got with these candles state that they can be used with the spells that was included in this months box which I do find really useful. The herb I got in this months box was rosehip. I have never gotten this herb before so its a new one to add to my ever growing collection. I also got a herb blend with this months box which the information stated that its a box exclusive protection blend. She also stated it works well with the home protection jar spell she has included in this months box. I just love how much thought she has put in this months box. I love crystals and I don't have many raw crystals as the local one I got to buy my crystals don't sell raw very often. So its a great treat of mine when I get raw crystals in the monthly box. This months is a quarts point and came with an information sheet too which I will happily add it to my book of shadows. I just love how she packages these crystals up also. I also got a Lisa Parker bronze pendant. Its beautiful and has wolves on it which I connect with on a personal level. I wont be able to wear this though as my skin is sensitive to metals so I may add this to my book of shadows as a charm. Its just too beautiful not to use. I also got a ivy book of shadows which I have gotten in the past in other boxes. Its a great starter book of shadows and is very handy to keep in your bag also. For me this isn't as useful so I will be gifting this to my brother who likes this sort of stuff but doesn't practice in it. (yet) :') I also got a pot of charms in this months box which I thought was such a great idea. I have been needing some charms to add to spell bags and also my little samhain dude I made last year with is still on my altar. I was made up with this and charms are really handy to have for spell work. The last two items is the incense cones that I got in this months box. I love ylang ylang cones because they smell amazing I do have quite a lot of these cones but they never go out of date so the more the merrier. I also got a glass vial which I do believe goes with one of the spells that was included in this months box. I love glass vials and I have been looking for a while to get bigger ones than the ones I have in my kit at the moment. I also am thinking of making a wish necklace with one of the vials I have but haven't got everything I want just yet. May be in the future I will get it done. Overall this box is amazing. I love the love and passion that goes inside this box and what she has included some very unqiue and some more useful but all great items. I love getting this box and I am only on the second one. I really can't wait to see what she does in the future ones. Blessed be everyone, MissDoomie x |
