Merry meet everyone,
Today's question is: do you use chants/ mantras /affirmations? Chants: So chants for me depends on the spell itself. Some spell work asks you to do chants its why I didn't say yes or no. I have done in the past but not as much now as I use too. I do believe that chanting helps in some ways but also if you live with someone who isn't on the same path it can become tense. Not on any ones fault like but its because one doesnt understand the other and then you feel like they are judging you in a way but you know they arent. Its hard to explain but its one of the reasons why I dont as much anymore. Mantras: I have one thats stuck with me for a while and its just a simple "Life's a bitch". Thats been one thats stuck with me since high school. Knowing what I have been through in the past and that the world around us likes hurting everyone. I try to stick to the positive which means turning it into something different. So when I think of my mantra "life's a bitch" I always think it means you can only control so much of your path the rest is down to fate and the domino effect. You get two choices stress over what you cant control or work around it to see if theres a different route to take. Life is never easy. Its here to challenge us and to make us learn from our mistakes and thats why my mantras hasn't changed haha. Affirmation: My affirmation has been with me since my mother attacked me. The person who I was talking to told me to put a sentence together to say in the morning to help make me believe and feel good about myself. Now this was from a time where I was in a very dark place. I felt like I wasnt important and that I was worthless because my mother didnt care about me to a point she attacked me. Then it played that my father never wanted me and left my life when I was four years old so I was troubled. My affirmation that hasnt changed since 2012 is "I am important, I am strong, I am a fighter" Thats helped me get through some shit and some bad times. In fact thats getting me through some stuff right now as the she bitch is banging on the door trying to get back into our lives. I hope you enjoyed these answers and I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is about the juniper berries. I got the information from one of my witchy subscription boxes in the past and thought I would share it here with you all. In Icelandic folklore it is said that juniper and rowan cannot grow together as each creates so much heat that one or other of the trees would be burn up. For the same reason it was considered not a good idea to bring sprigs of both woods into the house. Juniper berries are said to stop theft and grown at the front of your property will guard against this. Strung together when dry and hung around the home or worn as an amulet will bring protection to the wearer. Juniper when burned gives of a lot of smoke because of its high oil content. If you want a to use the smoke in spell-weaving as a barrier, invisibility aid or shield, then juniper is perfect for this. Magical uses: Proitection, aids in preventing accidents, protection from malevolent spirits and good luck. I hope you found this post useful and I will see you all in the next one. Blessed be MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is about a book I brought a couple of weeks ago that I haven't had a chance to do a post about and also haven't had a good chance to read yet. The reason why I brought this book was because I loved to learn more about moon spells and working with the moon phases to create the spell I want. This book I brought from the works for £3 which was a bargain. Having a little look inside this book has really inspired me to do a couple of pages in my book of shadows about moon magic which I haven't started yet but plan on doing in the future. Probably my next week off work. (Not many days off atm) What I love about this book is the fact it starts off with all the foundation of information you need to start off understand moon magic and the lunar phases. Its like preparing you for the rest of the book which works really well. The book also goes through tools you will want to use within moon magic and also what you can use depending on what works well for you as a spell caster. The biggest section in this book is all full of moon spells which is why the book is called as such. I love the spells that are included in this book and I really think it would be a good idea to share some of theses useful spells in the future as they are fabulous. I have already made notes about a couple to add to my book of shadows and for future spell casting. I really hope you find this book and add it to your collection because it does seem like a really useful addition to your book collection. Also for £3 from the works is well worth it. I hope you enjoyed todays post and I will see you all in the next one. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone,
Today's question is : do you/how do you meditate? The short answer is yes I do meditate. The long answer is I do it when I am the most stressed or that I cant relax when something is on my mind that has been bugging me. I normally do it before I go to bed. I sit on my bed, close my eyes and just stay there listening to whats around me. This helps me clear my head. Its also a great way to relax before you go to sleep so you dont bring your worries into the dream world with you. Another way I meditate is by sitting in front of my altar (my small table one) and having some incense on go and a candle burning in front of me. I focus on the film and how it dances and that calms me also. I do find that meditating works differently for everyone so I would always recommend trying it but not to take my word it will work the same as it does for me. I hope you enjoyed todays question and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's herb is marigold. Marigold is also known as the death flower as they used to be planted on graves and seemed immortal, flowering throughout the seasons. As you plant a marigold, and see how it grows, the health of the plant is said to depict the health of your marriage or partnership. So if the plant welters then you know that there is work to be done in the relationship. Hang a dried marigold wreath above your door to keep out evil spirits and scatter petals under your bed to bring prophetic dreams and to deepen the connection within meditations. Marigolds have always been a part of samhain and the day of the dead celebrations and ceremonies as well as used in funerary rites of passage. Said always to bring light to those who have crossed over. Magical uses include: Psychic enhancement, remembrance, dreamwork, energy building, prophecy, used in rituals to bring joy to the dead, especially at samhain, protection from negative energies. Such a great herb to keep in your tool kit. I hope you enjoyed this weeks herb post and I will see you in the next one. Blessed be MissDoomie x |
