Merry meet everyone, So today's question is: What does this time of year mean to you? Yule has just been last week so for that its a time for celebration that the dark side of the year is half way done and it will start getting lighter again. Its also a time to spend with family and friends and with most of my family celebrating christmas instead of yule I get the best of both worlds. I get to celebrate yule on my own in my own way and then get to celebrate christmas with my family and friends. I normally host a christmas dinner for my friends that live near me, its always a pain getting everyone free on that day but its worth is just to spend a couple of hours surrounded with my friends. With work we normally go weeks without seeing some of them so its a great time to catch up and I love hosting the little gathering. Christmas day is normally just me, my partner and my family which is enough for that day haha. My brothers always argue and I am normally sorting through ripped wrapping paper and making sure my brothers dont kill each other haha. I love my family to bits and christmas is always a good time to just see how much we have all changed. Its strange seeing us all grow up and start our own lives sort of thing. I can always count on my family to be there for christmas. Boxing day is when I get to spend time with my boyfriends family and its always amazing. We have his nieces playing with what ever they got for christmas that year and give us an update on how their lives are going. We get to catch up on his sisters and his parents. I love spending christmas with his side of the family because its like another half of my own. For me this time of year means family, its a time where we make time for each other or that where all free to spend it with loved ones. I know that work takes over around this time of year also but its just such a great feeling to be surrounded by people who love you for you and will stand by you no matter what. Its amazing. I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and have a great happy new year. I will see you in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie xx Merry meet everyone, So today's question is: What spiritual practice do you do most often? For me I practice a lot of different aspects of different practices that I have kind of made my own paths and ways around things. I meditate a lot because it helps clear my mind and also helps relief of stress. I always do my candle magic even if its just a blessing instead of a full blown spell as I stated in the last post I dont have time to do spell work very often. I always try to focus on the positive side of things which has actually helped with my depression and other aspects of my mental health. I find that it probably wont cure me from it but does help my day to day life. It doesn't dictate my life anymore. I always aim to work in my book of shadows once a week which to be honest I have fallen behind on the last couple of weeks. That doesn't help that I was away one week but thats no excuse :D I am a full blown pagan and I practice a lot of different spiritual practices that I can't pin point one. I think my go to is the basic speaking to cards which I always do just to get some advice. I know I have been all over the place in this post its just a hard question to really answer when I have a head cold haha. I will see you all in the next post, Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, Today's post is the charmed within December box review. I received this on Wednesday but I thought it would be fitting to review this box on yule, as this box is for yule. I really love the items I got within this box and I have already put the items on my altar reading to celebrate yule. I would like to take this time to wish you all a blessed yule tide and that your following months is filled with love and joy.
I really enjoyed this box and its such a lovely theme. The handmade items in this box makes this box as special as ever. Its one of the reasons why I was drawn to this subscription box because of the effect Kelsey puts into each box and the fact she has the information and experience to help within the path. You can tell each box you get is full of love and respect for the theme and the topic that all pagans, wiccans, people within the craft will connect with on some level. She puts so much effect into these boxes and makes each one special. I am always surprised with her creations because they are breath takenly beautiful.
I hope you have a blessed yule tide and as I stated before that your following months is full of love and joy. I will see you all in the new year. I would also like to state that the my pagan life challenge is still going to continue on the Sunday like normal even though I am taking two weeks off for the holidays. I hope you enjoy your christmas with your loved ones and have a wonderful new year. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today I want to go into more detail about what yule is and where it came from. I did a lot of research into yule when I was doing my yule pages in my book of shadows. I thought i might as well share them with you because it was really interesting what I found out and I think people should know these too. Yule is the time of year where its the darkest and shortest day. Earlier people noticed such phenomena and supplicated the forces of nature to lengthen the days and shorten the nights. Wiccans sometimes celebrate yule just before dawn, then watch the sun rise as a fitting finale to their effects. After the Norse brought yule into prominence it nearly replaced samhain as the date of the new year. Many modern Celtic covens still honour yule this way. The Nordic influence Celts celebrated yule with many of the trappings we associate with modern christmas observances such as decorated evergreen trees, wreaths, holly and of course the feast. They also believed that on this night the holly king, as the god of the waning year, would battle the oak king, the god of the waxing year and lose. Often yule coven rituals have members reenact this fight. The goddess gives birth to a son, the god, at yule. This is in no way an adaptation of Christianity. The winter solstice has long been viewed as a time of divine births. Mithra's was said to have been born at this time. The Christians simple adopted it for their use in 273 current era. This is the time of death and rebirth of the sun god. The days are shortest, the sun is at its lowest point. The full moon after yule is considered to be the most powerful of the whole year. This ritual is a light festival, with as many candles as possible on or near the altar in welcome of the sun child. Its why yule is so important to us, because its a symbol of renew, and rebirth of our sun god. I hope you enjoyed today's post and learn something about yule too. I hope you enjoy your yule and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone,
So today's question is : Do you perform spells on a regular basis? This one is hard to explain because it depends on the time of day and year. Take for example through out the summer holidays I did very little spell work because I was in work all the time nearly and also I was so tired that I couldn't plan it. I do blessings all the time but spells is a different story. I always feel like a blessing can be done there and then with a candle or even on the way to work, where as a spell needs to be planned out and make sure that everything is ok and right before performing it. My goal next year is to do spells more regular because its a very important part of my life and I hate putting that side on hold for my work. I think that its more down to me not feeling right to do it then anything though. The best time of year for me that I do a lot of spell work is October because of samhain I do a lot of spells around family members who have passed away. Speaking to them and asking advice is always key for me around that time of year. I always do spell work for sabbats because that I aim for each month so I don't miss them. I love celebrating the sabbats and its a important part of my craft. So to answer the question yes and no. It all depends on the spell work and also the time of year when it comes to running along side my work. My goal for next year is to do more spell craft and I may even make that a goal for the blog to. I hope you enjoyed today's question and its made you think about your own spell work. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today I want to share this yule sachet that I got in the pagan parcel last year. I loved how this turned out and was very simple so beginners can do this as well. You will have to mix the following herbs together to get the herb blend. - Juniper - Orris root - Cinnamon - Bay - Allspice - Cloves - Ginger - Orange peel - Caraway - Lemon peel - Nutmeg - Rosemary I know some of these are hard to get but its well worth it in the end. You will need: - The blend of herbs from above, - A square of fabric, - A spoon - Some ribbon - Some small bells. Use the spoon to place the blended herbs into the centre of a square of fabric, Then pull the corners up and tie the fabric together with the ribbon. Tie a couple of bells in place as well, you can use a second piece of ribbon to create a loop so you can hang the sachet on your tree if you wished too. (For me I hanged mine above my altar) The blended herbs used in this sachet are associated with money, health, good fortune, and love. You can hang in your home on your tree or give them to those who might be in need of some holiday blessings this year. I told you it was a very simple way to create the yule blessings and the little sachet smells amazing. I would like to take this time to say that if you liked this handy little blessing than you should check out pagan parcel because Terry is a very talented person who loves helping others in the craft. I highly recommend you trying out their boxes. I know I had a little blob with them over the summer but that wasn't their fault or mine it just happened which is life. I still love their boxes and still class Terry as a friend. His boxes range from anything little as £17 to £30 depending on the box you pick. I hope you enjoyed today's post and that you have a blessed yule. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's question is : What does magic mean to you? Magic to me is life itself. Its the world around us. Its how we breath and walk around the world in such a way that its possible to be created. Its women creating life inside them and birthing the next generation. As I said before its life itself. I am very much into my natural way of life in most aspects of my life. Mother earth is a big part of my life and was a big part of how I grew up within the pagan faith. I believe that everyone has the chance to connect with the magic side of life but only some people have true gifts within this. People who can see ghosts or connect with the other side more clearer than some are more connected to the magic side of life than others. I also believe that children are more connected to magic than adults. Most adults grow out of the magic connection unless your a witch who connects with it on a daily basics. Magic is the elements that surround us. elements such as fire, earth, water and air are all aspects of life we need to live. Thats magic to me. When I walk outside and focus on the wind blowing past me, the sounds of the world and nature surrounding me. The feeling of calm being within nature. Thats magic to me. I know many people have different ideas of what magic is, but in the simplest form of magic is life it self. Its how we live in the world, how we are created. For me magic is the simplest form of life and its why I am so connected to it. I hope you enjoyed today's post and question and I will see you in the next one. Blessed be, MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today I will be reviewing the charmed within November box which the theme for this month is earth and the magic around it. This months box looks amazing like last months, I love the amount of work and effect Kelsey puts into her boxes. I am going to do something slightly different with today's post because I have so many images I have taken of this box that I would love to do it in sections and also theres so much I want to talk about.
The last item is a earth healing ritual. I love how she gave us a whole kit for this and the way she presented this is just fab. In this kit I have sheets of paper and a handcrafted pen for magic work. I have beeswax sheet and a candle wick and pine-cone. Everything I need for this spell. I wont go into details because its something that could go into a post on its own but I love how she added a spell in each box. Overall this box is amazing, I would say check it out for yourself because Kelsey puts so much effect and love into her boxes which comes through every month when you open them. They are well put together and I just love the themes. She shares her wisdom and helps you celebrate aspects of magic which I just love. I hope you enjoyed this months box review and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's question is : Do you use divination, if so what types? So for me personally I have collected many different types of divination tools which depending on what I want to do, depends on the tool and style I use. My go to is always my tarot cards, its simple and effective and I have been using my tarot cards for many years now. It was also the first style of divination that I was introduced to as a child in my household. I was given my first deck of tarot cards when I was like 7-8 years old. The style of the read depends on what I need to ask, I sometimes do a simple read so I can get a simple answer. If its a more detailed question than it needs a more detailed read. I am at the moments using the pendulum more because I brought a pendulum board a couple of weeks ago, or my nan brought it me should I say. I have always been drawn to pendulums but never really used them as much as my tarot cards. I love the energy they hold and surround themselves with. I have a good collection of pendulums because of this. I am more a collector of pendulums than a user of them but I have been getting the hang of using them. I feel it takes time to connect with pendulums which also takes time to learn what they are trying to tell you. I have many different card decks in my collection. I feel that my Celtic tree oracle is my favourite oracle deck because it connects to mother nature and also speaks to me more than my other oracle decks. I only use this deck when I have a question that only that deck can answer. Overall divination is a big part of my life, I would love to dip my toe in other styles of divination but at this moment of time I just haven't had the time or haven't been drawn to learn it. I hope you enjoyed today's post and question and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x |
