Merry meet everyone, So today's post is going to be a little haul. This past week I went to two different places as days out. One was for work related aspects and the other was because I hadn't been since before christmas :D The first haul will be from my day trip to Liverpool. As you can see I got mostly crystal focused items. The amethyst necklace I got was just shouting at me to get it. It was only £4 and yes its a real tumble stone. I love amethyst and I did have a wand necklace that I got last year from the same shop but the hoop that attached it to the chain broke and is now in my crystal storage. The lapis crystal wand was £16.99 from The Olive Tree in Liverpool. This was brought for me by my Nan as a early Easter present as I don't want chocolate this year haha. I have been looking for a crystal wand for a while and this one just shouted out at me from the room upstairs. Once I stepped through the main door of the shop I could feel it drawing me in. I went straight to it and got it within seconds. This now sits on my top shelve on my altar and its just beautiful. The energy I get from holding this wand in my hand is amazing. I then got five different tumbled crystal stones from the same shop I got my necklace above the Magic Willow which is also in Liverpool. The crystals are : green quartz, snake dragon jade, nephrite jade, howlite and olive jade. These all connected with me when I was looking through the store's big collection of crystals to sell. I didn't realise how many jade crystals I had brought until I got home which I thought was quite funny. These are now in my crystal collection and are happy with they new home haha. The second trip I did that week was to Preston. Now this wasn't much of a day trip as it was going to sort things out with work and also my brother was going to get a handle of where he needed to go for his training for work. So this wasn't meant to be a shopping trip but I went into my favourite shop in Preston which is Tiger. Now this shop is a shop for people who loves notebooks and all aspects like that. The main reason I went in though was the fact they have such a great collection of taper coloured candles which burn for 11 hours. These are two for a £1. So I thought I may as well stock up on a couple different colours as I use taper candles a lot for my altar and I go though them a lot too as they are always burning away. I spent about £8 on candles in this store but that got me such a great collection of candles in my supply. Now I am not in Preston again for a couple of weeks so when I am next covering for work I will grab some more of these as they are fabulous. I hope you enjoyed today's post and that you got inspired to grab some items to stock your own supply up. I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today's post is another little treat as I am reviewing the other box that I got in the buy one get one free offer that tamed wild UK website has on offer at the moment. Just a little reminder, last weeks review I wasn't very happy with what I got because personally I didn't believe it was worth the money I would of paid for it if it wasn't in the buy one get one free offer. The box I am reviewing today is so much better and is well worth the £24 I paid for. Just from the image alone you can see there was so much more added in this box than there was in the other one and for what I got well worth the money. The information sheet that I got in this box was called re-birthing and setting boundaries which I believe was the theme of this box. I also believe this was the 2018 march box as it does have the date included in the information. This box I do believe is all about the ritual and most of the items that were added in the box goes along with the ritual. The information sheet is beautiful and full of information about the ritual and other bits. This page of information is so beautiful I will happily just stick this in my book of shadows. The second item I got that I pulled out of this box was these three images on cards and envelopes. I believe these go along with the ritual but personally I will add these to my book of shadows also as they are really pretty and I don't want to waste the artwork. The next item I will talk about is the santo polo smudging stick and shell that I got. This is really handy for me as I love using this to spring clean and cleanse my home. I also got a small blue floating candle which personally I won't use as a floating candle unless I put it in a cup on my altar. OO ideas. Anyway I love getting candles in these boxes as they are always handy. I also got a beautiful blue glass bottle full of ritual herbs. The bottle is beautiful and will look amazing on my altar. I am not sure about the herbs inside will have to look into whats included in the mix. I also got a veil bottle of queen annes lace seeds which is a new one for me so I will have to look into that before using. I got some crystals in this box as well which made me really happy. The slab that I got was the agate crystal. This is such a beautiful blue haze. I also got as quartz cluster which is such a great item to get in my box. This will look fabulous on my altar. I love quartz because its such a clear, fresh crystal and you can use it for everything. I also got a crystal egg and stand which I am not sure what the crystal is so I will have to look into that a bit more as there is no information about the crystal. I also got this small moon stone like item. Again I am not sure if its a crystal or slate but I will have to look into this because the box doesn't have a list of contents which other boxes do and for that it makes things a little harder to work out what you got. Overall this box was well worth the £24 just with the crystal items alone. I may get another two boxes if the buy one get one free offer is still on and more boxes are added as the offer for me personally is worth it. I hope you enjoyed todays post and the box. I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone,
So today's question is : how important are altar tools to you? Now personally I only use a handful of the tools when doing my craft and even then I may call them tools when others may not. The main tools people mean are the wands, athame, cauldron and a chalice. Now I personally only use the cauldron all the time on my altar. I do have a green glass chalice which I do use when needed but its not used all the time. I would love a athame but I haven't found one that had called out to me yet. So I am still on the look for that. For the wand I do own a crystal selenite wand which is always on my altar but for use in the crafts not really needed for my personal use. Other items which I would class as tools is candles which I use all the time. Same with incense and for that I use all the time also. Many people wouldn't class theses as tools but me personally I do. Anything I need to use for the spell work is classed as a tool for me. Same as anything I have on my altar some are tools others are decorative pieces. To answer the question though how important are my tools it depends how much I use them. For the likes of the cauldron, candles and incense I use these all the time so they are very important to me. The wand I own and chalice isn't as important to my craft as they are there when needed but never really used. I can't state how important an athame is to me and my craft yet as I personally don't own one yet. I would love to but for the time being I haven't found one that connects with me. I hope you enjoyed today's question and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, Todays post is about sheep sorrel herb. Now all the information in this post is from one of the information sheets I got in the past unboxing posts. Sheep sorrel is used for its cleansing and healing properties, used in spells, rituals and added to charm bags for this purpose. Combine with nettle and chamomile to ward off evil and protect the bearer from the evil eye. Helps to keep negativity out of the home and can be placed in sachets at the front and back door to make sure unwanted forces are prevented from entering. Other names for this is wild sour grass, the planet is the sun and the element is fire. This herb is used for the following: Cleansing, healing, protection and banishing negativity. I hope you found this post useful and interesting and I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So the last time I spoke about my book of shadows was months ago. I can't even remember what I said or the plans I had in place for my book of shadows as its changed so much in the many months since I have last posted. This book of shadows is just a little bit bigger than A4 and its a beautiful leather bound book. I added the ribbon myself as I wanted to add page markers and these two colours stood out to me the most. Green ribbon for the nature side of my craft and the red ribbon for self-love and passion that I have put into this book of shadows. I normally put chapters in my books of shadows but I always find that I either run out of space for a topic or am left with too much. This time for this book of shadows I haven't done that. I have just written in it when needed. Its more free flowing and for me I like working in this way because I will use the whole book and also my studies are free flowing and I do jump between a couple different aspects of magick and for me personally I felt trapped in my own book of shadows because I put them in chapters. I did go through weeks of not touching my book of shadows because work took over and for me I felt so tense because of work that I couldn't even think about working inside my book of shadows. The last couple of weeks has been different though. I have been working on my book of shadows every chance I get. I am even using old magazine pictures that I have collected to make the pages more for me and beautiful and not just full of text. I have even left a double page at the front of the book if I want to add a contents after finishing this book. I will not add one while doing it as it may change and I want this to be as free flowing as my studies. I still have a chapter for the sabbats because I learn more every year and each book of shadows I have owned has had this at the front. Which is full! After that it jumps between topics from magick aspects with candles, the moon, basic workings. The last two pages I have done is about the horned god and the triple goddesses. I wrote these in because I do love the story that goes along with these beings even if I personally don't follow it. I am planning on doing a couple pages about goddresses I have worked with in the past and the one I work with now which is Gaia or mother earth. I also plan on doing a page or two about the green man because I just love those sides of the path. I work a lot with the green man and mother earth which for me personally shows the male and female aspects of paganism and wicca even though I don't follow all wicca aspects. My book of shadows is very much a living being going through different aspects of magick. Thats how I see it anyway. Its ever growing with knowledge like myself and for that I love the free flowing vibe. I do find that what I am working with in my book of shadows may have a aspect of what I am working on my blog as all my magick aspects do run along each other. So do be surprised that I have some posts coming up about Gaia and the green man. I hope you enjoyed my update about my book of shadows and that I have inspired you to work more free flowing because for me I always thought I had to have everything together and it made me not want to work in my book of shadows and I wouldn't want anyone to feel like that. I will see you all in the next post. Blessed be x MissDoomie x Merry meet everyone, So today I have a little treat for you all as its a treat for me as well. This week I found out that the tamed wild UK website was selling their boxes and kits off as buy one get one free. This worked out in my favour as I have been wanting to get my hands on one of theses boxes for a while but for personal reasons I don't get subscription boxes from the usa anymore. The uk website only sells items and old boxes not supply subscription boxes which is a pain. But this offer worked out well for me because I got two boxes for the price of one and it gave me a taste of whats in theses boxes. I promised this year that I would try different subscription boxes and at the end of the year rate them all. Thats still my plan and even though I didn't get theses boxes as a subscription they are still past boxes that have been sent out as a subscription box. Today's box that I am reviewing is the crystal box they do. This one I believe is a year old and if you did subscribe to them, you might of gotten this box last April from them. The price for this box was £24 which for what I got doesn't really amount to the price I paid. I know crystals can be quite costly depending on the crystal so I will do some research into the prices some more in the future but when I opened this box I was very underwhelmed. I was hopping for such a better box than what I got. Bear in mind this was my free box that I got in the offer. So overall it didn't bother me that there wasn't much in it as such but if I subscribed to this box and paid what I did and only got what I got I would be slightly pissed off. Anyway I will speak about each item as I do normally. You get one information sheet which has the two crystals you got in the box and its information about both of them. I also got a little post card like image talking about how to charge your crystals which I personally liked as not everyone knows how to do this. I personally do but its a good little image to add to my book of shadows. Same with the information sheet its a really pretty looking sheet and I will happily add this to my book of shadows. The two crystals I got in this box was the iron pyrite which is quite a big raw chunk and a serpentine stone which is a little on the small side. I also got a bag of salt and sage crystal cleanser which personally I wouldn't use as many of my crystals aren't the best within water. But that was all I got in this box. For £24 I got two crystals, some cleansing salt and two sheets of paper. You see why I said its not worth the money for this box. I love my crystals and I was looking forward to this box but as I stated before its very underwhelming. I think for £24 you should get a lot more in the box about crystals than what I did in this one. I do hope if you have subscribed to this box that you feel like your getting your moneys worth or even that the boxes do get better. I personally wouldn't subscribe to this box as I don't see it being worth the money or time getting it. But as freebie i am happy with this box. Next week I will do a post about the other box that I got in the buy one get one free offer. I am a lot happier with the other box than I am with this one but hey ho with the offer it was worth getting both of them. I hope you enjoyed today's post and I will see you all in the next one. Blessed be x MissDoomie x |
